Nine young african acrobats from Circus Ethiopia rehearse their act in Preston Park, Brighton in preparation for the town’s festival. Although only one of the troupe actually did the leap during their performance in the ring, the rest of the children were delighted to show that they too could turn head over heels for the camera.

A tour of the intricacies of Brighton’s huge Victorian Sewage system is always the first attraction to sell out at the Brighton festival in spite of stiff opposition from the arts. This picture was lit using portable flashes held by sewage workers down secondary tunnels.
